SOCCER CARDS INVESTMENT INVESTMENT OPINION– April 22, 2021 - EURO 2020 GROUP D
Today we will zoom in on Euro 2020 Group D. We will break down the nations England, Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic and highlight some players to watch!
We highlighted some players to watch. These are not always the biggest stars on the team, but players we think can make a difference for their team at Euro 2020 based on their performance. This group seems a bit more straight forward and we predict this group to finish in this order:
1. England
We are hearing a lot of #itscominghome already all over social media. While I'm not sure that this will be the case, (you can read more about this when we reach the knock-out stage in this blog) we do think that England has the quality to top the group. Croatia-England is the first game and both teams will most likely try to avoid losing at any cost. I think both advance with 7 points and England will top the group on goal difference. Harry Kane has to lead this talented group and wouldn't be surprised if he will compete for top scorer of the competition. Mostly I'm very excited to see Sancho and Mount play this euros, given that they got the final call up. (It's crowded in the England squad). The development of these 2 youngster have been incredible and if they can bring their good form into the England games some very nice things can happen.
Croatia for me is a big dark horse to win it all. With some extremely good players that are nearing the end of their career and a lot of experience lead by no one else than Luka Modric himself. (The only player that got in there as best player of the year in Ronaldo en Messi's prime) They reached the World Cup final in 2018 and I think they are just as strong as a few years ago. Personally I love the way Perisic plays, always creating danger. This team plays like 1 unit and has the individual quality to beat any team.
3. Czech Republic

With a few decent players and a team that seems well balanced, I think Czech Republic can finish 3rd in this group with even the option to roll into the Knock-out stages if they can steal a few points from the 2 top teams in this group.
4. Scotland

Scotland has a pretty good team, With Robertson Tierney and McTominay they will definitely be competitive in games. With their overall quality and squad depth I do think they will end 4th in this group. The bigger teams do need to watch their step against this team. Underestimating Scotland would be a big mistake.
