SOCCER CARDS INVESTMENT INVSMENT OPINION– April 15, 2021 - EURO 2020 GROUP C
Today we will zoom in on Euro 2020 Group C. We will break down the nations the Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia, and highlight some players to watch!
We highlighted some players to watch. These are not always the biggest stars on the team, but players we think can make a difference for their team at Euro 2020 based on their performance: While this group is extremely hard to predict we will go with the following end result:
1. Netherlands
Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona)
Memphis Depay (Lyon)
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
I'm biased because I'm Dutch, but I think the Netherlands can top this group. It's going to be interesting to see de Jong in a big tournament, his development has been amazing and hopefully he can start leading this Dutch team. All eyes on Memphis too and find out if he turned around his career for a big transfer! I highlighted VVD here because it's unlikely that Liverpool will let him play the euros. I think VVD playing or not would be the difference between the Netherlands reaching far in the Euros or not. I'm afraid they won't make it into the knock-out round very far with this inexperienced team.
2. Ukraine
Roman Yaremchuk (Gent)
Olexandr Zinchenko (Manchester City)
Andriy Yarmolenko (West Ham United)
With these players I think Ukraine is an extremely strong side that could even top the group if I wasn't biased ;). Quality players in their squad that should give every team a hard time progressing as the knock-out phase starts.
3. Austria
David Alaba (Bayern Munchen)
Marcel Sabitzer (RB Leipzig)
Sasa Kalajdzic (Stuttgart)
I do like Austria's team, but I can't see them reaching higher than 3rd place in this group with little chance of advancing. They have a very solid foundation, but who will score the goals? Due to goal scoring ability, I think Austria will not be able to reach the knock-out phase.
4. North Macedonia
Goran Pandev (Genoa)
I won't pretend I know a whole lot about North Macedonia except that they randomly beat Germany and Goran Pandev plays for them. Enjoy Pandev as long as he is on the field, but I don't think North Macedonia will play a big role in Euro 2020
